To sort assignments by date in Google Sheets, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Your Google Sheet:

    • Open the Google Sheet containing your assignments.
  2. Select the Data Range:

    • Click and drag to select the range of cells that includes the assignments and their corresponding dates.
  3. Open the "Data" Menu:

    • In the top menu, click on the "Data" option.
  4. Choose "Sort Range":

    • From the "Data" menu, select "Sort range."
  5. Select the Column to Sort:

    • In the "Sort range" dialog box, you'll see a dropdown menu where you can choose the column you want to sort. Select the column containing the dates of your assignments.
  6. Choose Ascending or Descending Order:

    • Select either "A-Z" (ascending) or "Z-A" (descending) based on whether you want to sort the dates from oldest to newest or vice versa.
  7. Click "Sort":

    • Click the "Sort" button to apply the sorting to your selected range.

Your assignments will now be sorted based on the dates in the chosen column. The steps may vary slightly depending on the version of Google Sheets you are using, but these general instructions should guide you through the process. Keep in mind that the actual menu names and options may be slightly different if Google Sheets has been updated since my last knowledge update in January 2022
